Our client is a leading Financial Advice Provider with insurance broking operations across the North and South Islands of New Zealand. The role is based in East Auckland. This is a 14-month Fixed-Term contract that has come about due to a secondment into the business from the current incumbent.

About the role:

In this role, you will provide leadership, operational support, and performance of the Domestic department. You will provide leadership to the team alongside a domestic manager in enhancing the development of individuals in the team promoting a high performance culture. In this role, you will also develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, both externally and internally. Reporting is a dotted line to the CEO.

Responsibilities of the role:
  • Create a supportive team environment
  • Implement a clear strategic vision alongside the organisation's culture and plans
  • Develop and maintain relationships with insurance partners and agents
  • Monitor and manage team and individual revenue targets
  • Maintain technical knowledge to support complex issues including adherence to regulatory compliance and risk frameworks
  • Liaise with the SLT by providing key insights and information
  • Manage a team of domestic managers, brokers and support staff to develop a high-performance culture
  • Prepare and manage the budget for the department
About you:
  • NZCFS Level 5 (General Insurance) completed
  • Demonstrated and proven experience in managing teams, championing culture and diversity
  • Well-versed and familiar with product and policy wording especially in domestic insurance
  • Deep knowledge of insurance sector risk and compliance requirements
  • Strong relationships in the insurance industry are preferred
